Rotary Club organizes retreat for members, reiterates commitment on humanitarian services

The need for government officials, corporate organisations and well meaning individuals to join hands with Rotary Club in it efforts to further touch lives have again been stressed.

 The President, Rotary Club of Ilorin GRA, Rtn. Michael Oguntoye Phf, made the call during a one day retreat organized by the Club for her members.

Rtn. Oguntoye who spoke during the event which was held in Ilorin, called on participants to further spread the message of Rotary beyond their environments, adding that Rotary is an humanitarian service oriented organization which needed the support of government and other well-to-do individuals to further make positive changes in the society.

He described the retreat as an annual event organized by the Club aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capacity of members for a well service delivery. 

He therefore urged members to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the retreat for the betterment of the society, this Rotary year activities and the subsequent ones.
It would be recalled that, the event, as normally planned, was put together in which members of the Club gathered to witness all sessions of the event that turned out to be very engaging. Indeed, the knowledge acquired at the end was beneficial to all concerned, as it present ample opportunities for Rotarians to grow and have deeper knowledge about Rotary and what Rotary represent and stand for at the global stage.

The event attracted the presence of brilliant resource persons such as AG. Khadijat Musah Phf, Assistant Zonal Coordinator (AZC) Dolu Oyeyiola Phf+1, PAG Segun Balogun and PAG Waheed Abiola Shittu Phf+3.

Participants left the venue much more equipped than they were, especially looking at what joining Rotary or becoming a Rotarian entails.

Topics like "Building a stronger Club" was discussed by Rtn. Dolu Oyeyiola, while "Rotary Club Development via Service Projects" was brilliantly explained by AG Khadijat Musah. 
"Effective Leadership through Team Building" was treated by PAG Segun Balogun, while PAG Waheed Shittu,  handled the topic "Rotary Foundation: Procedure for Accessing Global Grant".

Speakers told the participants that Rotary Club is a serious business of touching lives beyond the shores of their immediate environments through all kind of humanitarian services. 

The event, which turned out to be very engaging, was well attended by members, as it also featured question, answers and other meaningful contributions from participants
