Kwara State AIDS Control Agency finalized HIV Sustainability Plan to Consolidate the Fight Against HIV/AIDS in the State.


With the support of CCCRN under its USAID funded Accelerating Control of HIV Epidemic (ACE-C4) Project, the initiative has supported the development of HIV Sustainability Plan for Kwara State.

The Exceutive Secretary, KWASACA, Dr. Seleem Babajide Alabi while addressing top government functionaries and participating Line Ministries, CSOs and Implementing Partners at the program which took place at Mucenty Hotel, Omu Aran, Irepodun LGA, Kwara State, reiterates the significance of the sustainability plan. 

The Executive Secretary urged the chairman House Committee on Health, Honourable Owolabi Abdulrazaq Olatunde to support the Agency in its quest to establish the Kwara State HIV Trust fund for sustainable HIV services to about 33,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in the state. 

Furthermore, Dr. Alabi said stakeholders need to work a lot more to make Kwara State HIV free by 2030. He also commended the Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for creating an enabling environment for KWASACA and other stakeholders in the HIV space in the state to deliver on their mandate. 

Dr. Alabi, who also expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor and Chairman KWASACA Mr. Kayode Alabi for his support at all times, also extend his appreciation to all government functionaries and heads of MDAs present at the event and for their contributions to the sustainability plan. 

Present at the program were Kwara State House of Assembly Chair on Health and Environment Honourable Owolobi Abdulrazaq, Commissioner for Health Dr. Aminat El-Imaam, Commissioner for Finance Hajia Hauwa Nuhu, Commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs. Olaitan Buriamoh.

Others are, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Ayinla, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Planning Mr. Jaja, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs, Permanent Secretary Ministry Youth, Executive Secretary Hospital Management Board, Executive Secretary Health Insurance Agency, Cishan, NEPWHAN, representative of key line ministries, Society for Family Health and officers of CCCRN and others.
