Kwara RAAMP Signed 9.3 Billion Naira Contract: Commends Gov Abdulraman Abdulrasaq's efforts in Opening More Rural Roads Across the State


The Governor Abdulraman Abdulrasaq's led administration have been described as a result and people oriented government, specifically in the aspect of opening more rural roads across the State to further boost the economy status of the State in it's efforts to make life more bearable for the people of the State especially, the rural dwellers.
The State Project Coordinator, Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project RAAMP, Engr. Dr. Isaac Kolo disclosed this in welcome address during the signing of 9.3 billion naira construction of rural roads contract agreement with qualified contractors.
Dr. Kolo who expressed his confidence in the State Governor, described him as a leader who has done well putting Kwara on the right path of greater achievement as he has no doubt justified the trust reposed in him by Kwarans.
The Kwara RAAMP Project Coordinator, therefore called on the approved contractors not to let down the State Government and the RAAMP Project at large through carrying out a lasting job as well as working in line with the lay down schedule time frame by which the job should be completed. Adding that, the time frame to complete the job is 18 month, but would be commendable if it could be completed within 6 months.
In his goodwill message, the Director, Tundis Nigeria Limited, Engr. Joseph Faboyo who spoke on behalf of other contractors, expressed their appreciation to the Kwara State Government under the able leadership of Mallam, Abdulraman Abdulrasaq CON and the Chairman Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) for his foresight and partnership with developed agencies to bring relief to Kwarans, as he also thanked the Kwara RAAMP SPIU for counting the companies worthy of doing the job.
Also, in his goodwill message, a representative of the State Project Management Committee (SPMC), Barrister, Moyosore Rasheed urged the contractors to see the offer as a rare privilege that should encourage them to carry out the contact as expected in order to project the State Government's efforts in improving the lives of the people. Adding that to whom much is given, much is required.
While giving the vote of thanks, the Kwara RAAMP lead Infrastructure Engineer, Engr. Isiaka Bashir Olaiwola appreciate everyone for creating time out to be part of the historic occasion in the life Kwara RAAMP, nothing that the cleared and approved contractors got the job purely on merit without pressure or influence from any quarter on the evaluation committee. 
The approved contractors are: RAFALI Nig Ltd, NBHH Nig Ltd, Fik Contracting Engineering Ltd, Tundis Nig Ltd and Heriprom Engineering Ltd
Looking at the roads considered for construction in the first phase under Backlog Maintenance/Rehabilitation of rural roads of 66.5 Km in Asa, Ilorin West/East, Oyun and Edu LGA of Kwara State are: Mondala- Yowere-Agbonna 12.485 Km, Gerewu - Eiyekorin - Okolowo Express 3.069 Km, Panada - oloro, 5.428 Km, Inaja-Alaro-Inaja maliki, 6.215 Km, Ijagbo-Aperun-Adeleke-Igbawere 6.85 Km
Kpandarako - Ginda - Kusomunu - Kachitako, Tsakpata Lealea - Gulufu - Bacita 22.89 Km
Lafiagi-Effagi-Putata Road 9.525 Km totalling 66.46 Km.
Meanwhile, the Upgrading of Rural Roads of 18.2Km in ASA LGA of Kwara State are Alapa – Hoko 0.7 Km, Madi – Peeke 17.5 Km, totalling 18.2km all together.
It would be recall that, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulraman Abdulrasaq CON and the Chairman Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), had approved the needed counterpart fund to show the State Government's commitment towards bringing development to the State and it's people.
The historic event was witnessed by officials of the Kwara RAAMP Project Implementation Unit (SPIU), State Project Management Committee (SPMC), contractors, consultants, members of the press and other relevant stakeholders.
