NIPR @60: EMIR OF ILORIN CHARGES PR PRACTITIONERS ON NIGERIA'S. REPUTATION

The Emir of Ilorin,Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has charged Public Relations Practitioners not to relent in managing the nation's reputation, in order to restore the glory of the country in the comity of nations. 
The Emir made the call today in Ilorin, while receiving the hierarchy of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in his Palace, who is currently in its euphoria of Diamond celebration of its existence. 
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is also the chairman of the state Traditional Council, noted with delight that the Institute since its establishment,has been deploying it's skills in crisis and reputations managements to safeguard the sanctity and integrity of the nation. 
The foremost Monarch who also described communication as pivot of any sustainable democracy, enjoined Public Relations and Media Practitioners to continue to play their strategic roles of nurturing and sustaining the nation's hard won democracy.
The Emir, while rejoicing with the NIPR Council member on her recent elevation to Professor of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin, described the promotion as apt in view of her father's scholarly contribution to the accelerated development of Ilorin Emirate. 

Earlier, the NIPR Council member and Fellow of the Institute, Prof Saudat Salah - Abdul Baqi had said that the hierarchy of the NIPR was in his Palace as part of activities marking the sixtieth anniversary of the chapter. 

Prof Saudat- Abdul Baqi disclosed that the Institute was established in nineteen sixty three and attained the status of chartered in nineteen ninety to register members, set parameters of knowledge to acquire to qualify to practice, regulate the practice and development of the PR Profession as well as monitor professional conducts through an established Code of Ethics, amongst others. 
She noted with delight that Ilorin Emirate under his reign had witnessed unprecedented development, in view of the prevailing peace,in Ilorin Emirate in particular and the state at large.
