Matawal Dauda Mafwil: One Death, too many

By Engr. Dr. Isaac Kolo

The sad news of the sudden death of Engr Matawal Dauda Mafwil, the Plateau State RAAMP Project Coordinator, got to many as a rude shock. Indeed, life is about memories! The memories of things shared, proposed, and yet to be accomplished.

No doubt, the modest memory of late Engr. Matawal Dauda Mafwil will endure, and his example stands out in terms of his great accomplishments in the RAAMP project, which he heads, and most especially, in the life of others.

I am personally pained that a friend, brother, and fellow project coordinator left this earthly prison house and transited to the great beyond. At a time, his fatherly leadership, love, and wisdom are still needed. Little wonder, Thomas Campbell says, and he is right that “to live in the hearts of those we love is not to die”.

His memories of modest lifestyle and modest human relations will continue to inspire through his work, the hearts of many, and his unrelenting devotion to those around him without any iota of discrimination, through which he was able to carved a niche for himself through sheer sense of tolerance and determination.

However, we are sad indeed today, but not to completely mourn Engr. Dauda bearing in mind that his demise is to the heavens a great gain, but to appreciate a life of positive impact and celebrate his life of service to God and humanity.

To Almighty God, therefore, we say this with thanksgiving, by appreciating you God, for everything we treasure about Engr. Matawal Dauda Mafwil for all that he means to us. Take care of him, Lord, until we all reach that time and place where every tear is dry, every question answered and all things are made new. Lord, in your love, hear our prayer. Amen.

On behalf of my humble self and the entire Kwara RAAMP State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU), we extend our condolences to the RAAMP Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU), under the leadership of our National Coordinator, Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, project Coordinator's accross RAAMP participating states, Plateau State RAAMP SPIU, his friends and immediate family. May God comfort us all.
