Human Trafficking: Kwara set to train 40 personnel of the security agencies and social workers.
With its theme, as "Prevention, Protection and Assistance to Victims ", all is set by the Kwara State Taskforce on Human Trafficking, to engage relevant law enforcement officers and other social workers on a day training focusing on curbing the prevalence of human trafficking and effective reporting channels in the state.
In His statement, the State Taskforce Chairman, who is also the Honourable Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice , Barr. Senior Ibrahim Sulyman noted that the move is part of the state government 's efforts under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq CON to ensure the safety of both Kwarans and our borders.
According to Barr. Sulyman, the train scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 16th April,, will be held at Yashikira community, in Baruten local government area of the State. Adding that, the event, sponsored by the Kwara State Government, is to ensure that the Trafficking in persons laws are polarized among the community for their safety to avoid being a victim of this modern slavery.
Barr. Sulyman further noted that the campaign is to educate the public on the dangers of human trafficking and strengthen our borders from being porous
The Chairman, who reiterated that the training is another eye opener on community efforts and collaboration, also called on the relevant agencies expected at the training to not only arrive in good time, but also make use of the knowledge that would be acquired during and after the training for the benefit of humanity.
Barr. Sulyman, therefore, appreciates the State Government for the support and proactive interventions at all times for the benefit of Kwarans irrespective of religion or political affiliations.
