RAAMP Aligns with the FG Renewed Hope Agenda- Minister...... Kwara Gov. Commended for Prompt Counterpart Fund Payments.

The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, has emphasized the importance of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project(RAAMP), project just as he declared that it aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda. 
Dr Abdullahi made this known during the state's presentation of participating states progress reports at the 10th Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) Implementation Support Mission, held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, between May 4th and May 6th, 2026.
He further pointed out that the RAAMP projects had evolved beyond road construction into a national reform programme aimed at institutionalizing sustainable rural infrastructure management nationwide.
The Minister further highlighted the importance of the projects to rural dwellers which he said included; provisions of year-round farm-to-market access, market infrastructure development, and job creation for communities along project corridors through routine road maintenance.
He also outlined the project's sustainability strategy, which focuses on building local capacity and promoting road ownership. 
Notable achievements, according to him, is the awarding of contracts for approximately 4,000 kilometers of rural roads, with 1,500 kilometers already completed, over 11.5 million rural Nigerians across participating states are now benefiting from RAAMP interventions.
On sustainability, he noted that 50 bills have been passed and assented to by various State Governments. 
The Minister therefore, urged participants to prioritize output delivery and expressed gratitude to development partners for their support, as the current administration under President Tinubu advances rural development and food secur
The RAAMP National Coordinator, Engr. Aminu Mohammed Bodinga, had in his remarks applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's led administration in Kwara State for its supports and special interest in the smooth implementation of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), in the state.
The National Coordinator also praised the State Government for its prompt payments of counterpart fund to ensure opening of more rural roads and making life more meaningful for the rural dwellers.
Engr Bodinga admonished the state to put in more efforts to deliver the project as and when due, specifically, the civil works and the agro logistic centers across the three senatorial districts in the state.

Earlier, the Director of the Project Coordination Unit at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mrs. Illuromi Adebola, had in his welcome address, commended the unwavering support of development partners such as the World Bank, the French Development Agency, the Islamic Development Bank and the European Investment Bank.

She urged participants to use the opportunity of the gathering to engage constructively and focus on solutions that would further strengthen the implementation of RAAMP. 

Meanwhile, key remarks were delivered by international partners, including World Bank Task Team Lead (TTL) Mr. Rakesh Tripathi, the AFD Project Manager, and the World Bank Country Director.

It would be recalled that, between 2019 till date, the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq, had paid a whooping sum of 6, 150, 235,000.00), as counterpart fund for the state. 

Highlights of the 10th Implementation Support Mission include; presentations by the participating states, deliberations on ways to address ongoing challenges, future scalability, and sustainability.

This was followed by a comprehensive progress overview presented by the National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engr. Aminu Mohammed Bodinga, breakout sessions 

The event also brought together stakeholders to review progress and strategize on enhancing rural infrastructure and agricultural marketing.
