Exemplary Contributions: Criterion Kwara District Honours Outstanding Individuals
Members of the public have been charged to always make meaningful contributions in the society as a way of encouraging others and setting modest examples in building a country that we can all be proud of.
The State Amira, Criterion Kwara District Alhaja Zainab Ghali, stated this while delivering a lecture at an Award Ceremony, held at the Criterion Secretariat, Pipeline, Tanke, Ilorin to honour three respected Muslim women who recently distinguished themselves in their different fields of call as she also emphasized the importance of upholding Islamic principles at all times in professional endeavours.
Alhaja Zainab, in her paper, noted that "promotion is not merely a recognition of talent or skill; it is a testament to dedication, perseverance, and faith. It is a reaffirmation of the values they hold dear and the commitment theymade to their callings".
According to the guest speaker, "Dear Sisters! Prophet Muhammad (SAW) did not create social class for himself, did not distinguish himself by way of dressing, his seat is not uncommon or elevated and did not disconnect himself from his companions despite the fact that he reached the pinnacle of what is attainable in life where no angel or man can reach, SIDRATUL MUNTAHA, and despite of being a Prophet and Messenger of Allah, the most honourable son of Adam. He lived among the people, wears what they wear, eats what they eat and attend the same market with them. Do not disconnect from old friends and extended family. He reiterated that the unbelievers challenged the simplicity of the Prophet (SAW)"
While congratulating the newly promoted sisters, the guest speaker also extend her congratulations to the Criterion family for the worthy and additional elevation.
Giving the vote of thanks, Professor Saudat Sallah Abdubaqi of the Mass Communication department, University of Ilorin, who spoke on behalf of other Awardees registered their deepest appreciation to the organizers who deemed it fit to honour them in a way that they least expect.
Prof Saudat described the honour as the type that they do not take for granted and assured that they would not rest on their oars in further making meaningful contributions in the society and encouraging others to aspire greater attainment in life.
Meanwhile, recipients of the distinguished Award are: Professor, Saudat Sallah Abdubaqi, the first female Professor of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, Dr. Sherifat Funmi Yusuf, Director, Kwara State Code of Conduct Bureau and Hajia Hajara Ninilola Ayo Abdulmalik, Provost of the Kwara State School of Nursing Ilorin.
